Welcome to the Platte Canyon Fire Web Site
A Note From the Chief:
The colder winter months are upon us and there are recommendations and precautions that we all need to be aware of during this time of year. Be careful and be safe during the holidays.
|
|
-
Space heaters need space: Keep portable and space heaters at least three feet from anything that can burn. Never leave heaters on when you leave home or go to bed, and keep children and pets well away from them.
-
Woodstoves and fireplaces: Make sure you have checked or cleaned your chimneys since they were used last winter.
-
Do not stack wood on your deck or against your house. This is additional fuel to burn if there is a house fire.
-
DO NOT leave ashes in containers on your deck or against your house. Many fires are started thinking they are cool.
-
Make sure your smoke detectors are operating properly.
-
Do not keep candles lit when you are not at home.
Sincerely,
Jeff Davis
