PCFD Open House October 11th 5:00-7:30

Platte Canyon Fire Department takes pride in our community. Our community supports us so much and we are forever grateful. We would like to invite our fire district to our department for an open house event! We will cook hot dogs for you as well as provide water and soda pop!

Our firefighters will be around to provide a tour of our fire station 2 at the top of Crow Hill. The station that our Administration works at, where our trainings are held, the helicopters land, and we provide space for our community to gather.

Firefighters will also give tours of our different apparatus such as the Type 1 fire engine, Tactical Tenders (military style vehicles we use for fire suppression, we have 2 of the 4 ever made!) our ambulances, Brush Truck for wild fires, and other equipment!

An interactive experience for the kids and adults. This activity will depend on the weather of the day, as Park County is in a burn ban currently, our interactive event will depend!

Educational material will be handed out from a great program we use Called Ready, Set, Go! Which is a program that teaches people of all ages how to be prepared for an emergency situation such as a wildfire!

Our community out reach lieutenant will be present as well to provide smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms for those who are in need.

Smokey the Bear will be in attendance!! And we have asked for a helicopter to come again this year! Our fire chief, administrative assistant, and many firefighters will be here to answer any and all questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you!
